Our Sunbather 4mm heat guard thermal blanket has a top and bottom weld on each seam for strength and durability. A sew seam will simply promote water egress and blanket will become water logged faster. Our edge binding allows water to pass through the blanket. So water does not get trapped.

This blanket retains heat and eliminates evaporation with an (R) rating of 4000 i.e. a solar bubble blanket with 525 Micron has an R rating of 525. In comparison the 4mm heat guard is far superior and lasts longer.
A solar blanket will last 30% of the life span of a 4mm heat guard thermal blanket.
