We recently helped a customer who had already invested in pool equipment, but unfortunately the installation had not been completed to the standard the job deserved. The plumbing had air leaks throughout the line, the chlorinator was installed in the wrong position, the acid feeder was also plumbed incorrectly, and the solar controller supplied was not fit for purpose for this setup.

The customer had also been sold extra products that were not needed on the line. Some equipment was supplied without the correct sensors, which meant more parts had to be purchased later to make the system work properly.

In the end, the customer had to spend an additional $2,500 to replumb the pump shed, remove equipment that was not suitable, and install a solar controller that was right for the job.

The contractor has 35 years experience and plumbed this backwards and also damaged a main pipe concreted into the ground. Luckily we were able to remedy the shattered pipe. Not to mention selling products not fit for purpose and also poor placement of items. 

That is valuable money no customer should have to spend twice.

This job is a reminder that trying to save money with below-average installation can end up costing more in the long run. Poor plumbing, incorrect product placement, missing sensors, incompatible controls and redundant equipment can all turn into expensive rework.

If a supplier cannot provide the full system needed for the job, including the correct controls, sensors and installation advice, it is worth pausing and asking whether they are really supplying the right solution.

We want our customers to feel confident that their valuable dollars are being spent on products and workmanship that deliver real value. The goal is simple: install the best product for the job, install it properly, and give the customer the best possible outcome.
