The Downunder hidden roller is made from 316 stainless steel. This is the minimum standard when you want to bury a cover pit underground for a long period of time.
Our engineers have designed the Downunder hidden roller to be very easy to use with a light weight finger lift lid. So you done have gas hinges or heavy parts that are not necessary.

Make sure your cover box is a cylinder, as this shape will never fail under ground(when back filled). The force around a cylinder is the perfect shape that will last over time. Like any drain that is buried under ground.
316 stainless steel(Will not rust), 114mm roller that is strong and durable but easy to use, Marines grade aluminium, finger lift lid, 2:1 gear 316 stainless steel gear, Durable and strong PVC cylinder shell that will not collapse.

Things to watch out for:
- A cylinder will work the best and will not collapse
- Read full product warranty. Other products state cover pit must not get wet. When it is a wet pit and subject to filling up with water
- Aluminium does not like to be under ground and is subject to corrosion
- 316 stainless steel can withstand harsh chemicals like chlorine, salt water and acid
- Standard metals and steel will rust and fail over time
- A right angle drive needs to be made from 316 stainless steel so it will not rust and fail
- Right angle drive unit should not be in a case. It will hold water and cause corrosion
- A heavy lid can be dangerous. So make sure the lid is safe for little fingers and toes
